General Specifications and Material Standards for Fabricated HDPE Fittings Made By High Country Fusion.

Materials:

1. The Pipe shall be made from polyethylene resign compound with a minimum cell classification of PE 345464C for PE 3408 materials in accordance with ASTM D 3350.  This material shall have a Long Term Hydrostatic Strength of 1600 PSI when tested in accordance to ASTM D2837, and shall be a PPI (Plastic Pipe Institiute) listed material.  Pipe dimensions with be in accordance with ASTM D3035 as a minimum.

2. The final compounded material shall contain a minimum of 2% carbon black. 

3. The pipe shall contain no recycled material except that generated by the pipe manufacturer in there own plant from resin compound of the same specification adn raw material supplier.

4. AWWA C906 -NSF Pipe used for AWWA C -906 Fittings.

5. 5.  All fittings manufactured for WL Plastics Pipe Company are done under written authorization from WL Plastics Pipe Company using only WL Plastics Pipe.

Fusion Procedures:

1. The butt fusion process for all fittings will be done in accordance to ASTM D -3261

Reference and testing Specifications:

1. ASTM-F_714: Standard Specification for Polyethylene Plastic Pipe (SDR-PR).  Based on outside diameter. 

2. ASTM D-1248:  Standard Specification for Polyethylene Plastics Molding and Extrusion Materials.

3. ASTM D-3350:  Standard Specification for Polyethylene Plastics Pipe and Fittings Materials.

4. ASTM D-3035:  Standard Specification for Polyethylene (PE) Plastic Fittings for Polyethylene ( PE) Plastic Pipe and Tubing.

5. ASTM D-3261:  Standard Specification for Butt Heat Fusion Polyethylene (PE) Plastic Fittings for Polyethylene (PE)  Plastic Pipe and Tubing.

6. AWWA C -906: American Water Works Association standard for Polyethylene pressure pipe in sizes 4" - 63" for water distribution.  Testing done per C- 906 guidelines.
