The specially designed cab is mounted on a tracked undercarriage and the 18,500-lb. unit is powered by a fuel-efficient CAT® diesel engine. The machine's 'quick change' technology allows it to accept any manufacturer's fusion equipment (including McElroy) that 'rides' inside the unit. Depending on the fusion equipment installed, the MobileFusion Trac can butt fuse 2" up to 20" OD / HDPE.

Rather than pulling pipe through a stationary fusion unit, the tracked machine itself moves along the pipe, weld after weld. The patented in-cab cooling system delivers easier, quicker completed fusion welds.

Productivity tests indicate that a MobileFusion Trac machine can fuse 3,100 to 3,300 feet of forty foot straight lengths of 12 inch pipe in an eight hour work day.
